camaro "dies" after startup when cold

1992 rs with 305... stock. When cold, car initially starts, revs up to around 1500 rpm, and then dies... starts right back up, and only happens intermittently, but I'm afraid it may worsen, or leave me stranded... any thoughts? HELP!

I'd guess IAC/TPS... There's a technical article about how to check/set them.

Jethro,

I had this happen to a TBI about a year ago. The fuel pressure was about half of what it should have been. After the engine had reached operating temperature, it ran almost normally, with just a hint of reduced power.

Once the pressure was restored, the problem disappeared.

Okay, thanks guys... I'm going to check the fuel pressure and review the article on IAC... i'll get back to the forum with results.
