everytime i think i fixed this problem it comes back. I've replaced the starter, bought shims, set the timing, i dont know whats left. The shim i used was 60 thousandths. It seemed to crank fine up until i took the distributor cap off to see if it was in time. somebody help me out, thanx

 

engine kickback is from the timing being WAY to far advanced, check out the timing forsure.

 

tempest has it nailed, the only thing I know that causes kick back is the timing being way too far advanced. I bet it cranks real hard too.
