question about A/C delete

well sorta a delete. i'm not sure if this will cause the SES light to go off or if it will hurt anything else, but what if i were to disconnect the belt turning the AC compressor? i would leave all the AC components attached to the car in case i would ever want to actually have ac again. i just wanted to take some load off the engine. if the compressor isnt turning, will the rest of the engine/computer know?

84 z28 305 HO

thanks.

When the AC isn't on, there is no load on the engine.

the only reason people tend to remove the A/C is for cleaning up the engine bay and making more room. You're only shedding about 25-30 pounds and that's a huge stretch (that's everything- compressor, condensor, heat exchange items, and hvac stuff)
