It's supposed to, mine does, in fact when I bought it (83 Z28) in 85, that was one of the things the dealer had to have fixed as part of the sale....
Somebody probably applied some form of racially-specific engineering to the little clutch switch. Get up under there and look, I'm positive you'll find that the vacuum and wiring aren't stock.

LBC,
Yup. Schwing those extra ***** over your shoulder and climb into the driver's footwell. You should see a switch on both the clutch and brake pedal arms. Obviously, one of the pairs of contacts on the clutch switch are for the starter safety circuit, and one of the contact pairs on the brake pedal switch are for the brake lights. The others are for the cruise interlock.
Incidentally, RB can say anything he wants to now - he's now the minority in Lo Cal, so he can't be harrassed. How long before he gets tired of being beat-down by The Man, anyway?

Hey, well help a brother out on how to make mine work without the stock ecm. Its a 87 and I yanked the stock ecm and ecm wiring harness out for a speed pro. There has to be a way to bypass it since I still have the vss. Does anyone have a schematic of how the cc wires tie into the ecm harness?

Well Pukka, did I say what race?
If I did, I sure didn't notice it.
Just about every race or nationality has been the victim of such stereotypes at one time or another. People say "Jerry-rig" nowadays when they want to talk in PC terms about doing something half-***ed, that's a direct hit on the Irish ("Jerry" being late 19-century slang for an Irishman); of course we are all familiar with some of the other kinds of "rig" that people refer to sometimes; Italians, blacks, Polish, all get their share, like the "Polish victory lap" (backwards), etc. Right now it seems to be considered appropriate to talk that way about Middle Eastern people.
IMHO you don't even know what you're getting your politically correct panties all in a wad about, much less do you have any right to complain. And on top of that you don't even know what race I am either; for all you know, I might be a member of some one of those privileged ones famous for their "unconventional economically sensitive problem-solving approaches".

Kinda reminds me of the politician (forgot who) that used the word "niggardly" a few years back. He used it in the correct manner, knew what it meant, and people still blasted him for it. He stepped down/resigned from whatever post that speech was related to. I dont know who was dumber, the public who didnt know what it meant, or him for stepping down.

I remember that. Rush Limbaugh still talks about it. That incident shows just how much oversensitive sissies have influenced our culture. Pukka, you must go to SCAD. Those losers are the only sissies I know of in Savannah.
RB, I always thought Jerry was slang for a German. The German's gas cans in WWII are where we got the term Jerry can.

Pukka,
Any engineering is good. How many times have you seen the "HELP!" posts that are the result of the complete lack of planning and engineering? I'll bet they'd take help from an African then (they generally do.)
Perhaps some of us do the Africans an injustice, however, since the phrase is generally intended as meaning a less-than-desirable form of engineering. That is even more strange when one considers the fact that ALL of us originated somewhere on the African continent, so ALL engineering is in essence, African Engineering. But I know what you mean.
Should I be the first to coin the phrase "Afghan Engineered - Taliban Tested"? Now THAT is about as poorly planned as you can get. After all, they wanted to make some changes through their actions. They're getting changes, alright. I wonder what the view is like from the bottom of six feet of sand and rock, anyway?

My friend refered to the terrorists as "sand******s" the other day, I thought it was hilarious. I'm not racist, but I enjoy a good racial joke, no matter who the punchline is directed towards. I think people are to ****ing politacaly correct nowadays, get over it. Black people are just as racist as white people. Does anyone know a good white joke dammit?!!!
While we are talking about ignorant people, I was watching speedvision earilier and it was some import car show and the announcer was like" and this car has alot more power, therefore it has more traction." I was like WTF!!!! How can you be so stupid!!!!!!!!!!!

A good white joke!
My late little brother used to work at a car dealer in Alabama where there were a bunch of black employees (surprise). They would tell each other, and him, the most outrageous African jokes, one after another. One day after a particularly good one he asked them while they were rolling around on the floor laughing if they would tell him a good white joke. They all stopped laughing and just looked at him. Finally one of them said "we don't know any". My bro asked why not, the African said "'Cause y'all ain't funny". Then they all busted out laughing again.
Humans.... what a species.... I could study them for my whole lifetime, and still not understand them at all.

I don't know what race you are...more important I DONT CARE.
Any phrase that implies slander against any race regardless of manner or dictionary meaning is not just "unpolitically correct", its RUDE, IGNORANT, OFFENSIVE, get my drift??
Its not whats said..its how its perceived.
You didn't KNOW who would read this...instead you ASSUMED:
1-people like you would read it
2-people like you wouldn't mind it they saw it
3-people like ME wouldn't respond
If we were in the same room or in a room with many different races, would you run your mouth the same way???? My response would still be the same, in fact it would make my **** hard spelling across your face.
So if people like you keep comments like that to yourselves, I'll keep my comments about the typical breed of a 3rd Gen owner and what I think about that breed to MYSELF.

For the record,
I don't go to SCAD. But I just might respect a typical SCAD student more than a typical Thirdgen owner.
And if ANY of you care to see just how much of a "loser" or "sissy" or what color my "panties" are you are more than welcome to drive your POS 3rdgen over here to find out.

Hey Pukka, you are a bitch...fu(k off. Grow a thick skin and a hard nose before you come back here man. Just a thought... if we were being politically correct, then we are all equals. If this is true then we are all the same; man, woman, black, white, etc. And if that is true then why does affirmative action still exsist. You want to know why... the unemployment rate in 2000 for black males age 18-24 is over 35%, thats why; they are trying to get them into the job force. It's funny how people can argue about race relations and not even point out the adverse affects that SOME population groups are having on our economy; THEY ARE KILLING AMERICA! Also, if a black man kick the **** out of a white man it is assult; if a white man beats down a black man it is a hate crime...don't even get me started on the injustices of our society! Don't come on here with your idealistic bull$hit. Take this with a grain of salt, but don't for one minute waste you time arguing with me cause I will win. Let these stupid "racist" comments roll off your back because by 2010, white people will become the minority.

Ooops!!! Did I hit a nerve somewhere?

How does it feel?
A simple apology would have sufficed, but actually trying to defend such a comment is just sooooo "soon-to-be-minority"
Anyway, I'm done with this thread since typing is cheap and we all know how manly we can get when we hide behind a keyboard.
But my challenge still stands.

Anyways, back to topic hopefully, yes as Vader and others above stated (before **** fan hitting etc.) there should be "switches" on the pedals.
