305TBI Stalling acting up What to do????

Hey Guys I have a 92 RS with a 305TBI for the last day ( just started ) it's been idling real high at startup and then when you put it in Gear Reverse or Drive it acts like it's bogged down and almost wants to stall. Normal Idle for it is about 500-600RPM. It acts like it's starving for gas when you hit coughs and then gets up and go's. It has 90K on the Engine and a Stage 1 Chip

Where do I look first? Fuel Filter? Fuel Pump? What? I'm at a loss and with the Turkey holiday here I'm afraid to take it out it might stall on me. I recently put in a EGR valve about 3 weeks ago and it's been running fine since then until yesterday and today. Normally it cranks right up now it's taking like 3-4 seconds to crank over.

Any help would be appreciated.

fuel filter wouldnt be a bad idea, if you've never changed it before, 90% chance its still the stock one. if not that mabey the pump or clogged injectors.

Well I let it warm up and it is running better allthough alot of what smells to be raw fuel. Is it possible to get bad gas? I wouldn't know the first place to look to change the fuel filter allthough it's pretty cheap at Autozone. If memory serves me correctly it's somewhere along the rails under the doors.

Oh back to the startup. It was running nice and put into gear and didn't stall out or anything but that's just sitting still. Before when I first started it ( seems to be when it's cold ) it ran horribly rough and when you went to goose it it acted like it was choking for air.

So you think it's possibly the fuel filter? Can you change that out DIY or better left to someone that knows what there doing? I'm mechanically inclined just have never changed a fuel filter before. I'm thinking maybe I got some bad gas or something. But that wouldn't explain why it runs rough at Cold Temps.

Well went and filled it up with 92 Octane it was close to E =) Running a little better but it still is rough when you goose it from low speeds acts like it's bogging down a bit. When sitting in the garage I rev it up to about 2,000 and theres a slight miss somewhere. Could the ECM have anything to do with this problem?

It's a Stock 305 TBI with Stage 1 Chip and I recently replaced the plugs with Splitfires and also replaced the EGR Valve as it was bad. But that was about 2-3 weeks ago.

But she's not running like normal and the other thing I noticed that when she starts from cold the idle jumps to 1,500 but when it's put into gear it drops to 500-600RPM Is this Normal?

Well I'm sure everyone is passed out from all the turkey this evening. ANother question on this Problem. Should the injectors in the TB be a ugly brown around the plastic and around the injectors themselves? Also I noticed while it was idling with the air cleaner off that the injectors don't look to be spraying like a fan more like a dribble here and there.

How much of a pain in the *** is it to replace injectors or is it cheaper to replace the entire TB?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!
