1/4 mile time?

My GTA is a 355 bored 30 over, has 10:1 compression, a cam thats a little bigger than stock: 214/224 duration .443/.465 lift, hyper tech stage 2 chip/170 thermostat, edelbrock shorty headers, 3" flowmaster all the way back. I was wondering what all you's think this should run in the 1/4 mile. My best so far is 14.2, and i think it should do better, atleast high 13's. Appreciate the help!

You are running a bigger duration cam than I'am and 5 more cubes. The results are in my signature.

those headers always seem to come up in the sig. of these cars that don't seem to have all the hp they should be making just a thought. however the hypertech doesn't help much if any. the flowmaster is a hold back too.

now I assume you are using the stock gta l98 iron heads? not TBI swirlports I hope

just a thought. also your ign timming plays a BIG part in making hp. too much and you pull timming and actually build max pressure pushing back on the pistion. too little and you never burn all the fuel.

more often than not I see people with too little timming (you know these guys with all the popping and crackle noise

yea i have heard that about those headers too, the guy who had it before me got them. I am looking at getting a better chip though, maybe a custom burned chip. I really dont know too much about custom burned chips, but i'm looking into it. I have also heard that flowmaster can be restrictive on SOME cars, but not my car.

As for the heads, they are the stock l98 heads.

Where do you live? I ran a 14.004 on a stock head, stock cam 87 TPI with headers K&N filters, 2.5in single exhaust with a custom made glasspack, 3.27 gears, and an MSD box at Edgewater in Ohio on a TERRIBLE track. Your altitude makes a big difference in how the car will run, and you probably need to check the cars tune. I'm positive I can break into high 13's on a completely stock engine with bolt ons, as a note I ran a 13.223 on nitro the same day running out of gear a little past the 8th mile and riding it out off nitrous (to give you an idea how bad the track was) my best 60 foot time that day was a 2.01 and that was off nitrous, you should most definetly be able to break 13's regardless of where you live, how was the weather the day you ran?

Yea, i'm pretty sure it has a lot to do with the timing too. This summer i will go to the track and a buddy of mine is going to adjust the timing for me and we'll see what happens. I also have a K&N filter, i took the air box off so its out in the open. As for the weather, i ran it all through the last summer, so it was hot some days, and cool others (around 65-70 degrees), but i'm not exactly sure what the temp was.

im gunna say ditch that hypertech like he said above. My friend had one and when he pulled it out the car ran 1/10 faster without it.
