i'm not sure but i thought the 180* or flat cranks were like the old corvairs and VW bugs. i believe i heard some CART race cars use or used them.

You'd have to have the correct camshaft also. If a dual plane intake was to be used, that would also need to be redesigned.

Exactly, a73camaro. You couldn't just drop it in and go. You would need all the stuff to make it work,like you said. And who knows what kind of block it was designed for. It's probably just an exotic setup that only race teams can/could afford.

I guess aftermarket companies don't produce them because they'd have to not only manufacture the cranks, but all of the associated pieces to make it all work. Also there would have to be cooperation between companies(ones that deal with induction, exhaust, rotating assemblies, etc.). But who knows? Nowadays there are aftermarket companies that are merging and/or buying other companies out. Companies like Edelbrock and Holley are expanding their product lines. Maybe this type of crankshaft(and associated pieces) will be widely available in the future. Whether or not there is interest in the product is the question.
