Someone care to analyse my emissions readings? What can you tell me?

I passed, thank g*d. Here are my readings:

NOx: 114 - accepted: 1273
HC: 58 -- accepted: 167
CO%: .04 - accepted: .94
CO2%: 14.5
O2%: .5

My engine was very warm, and these readings were done in October this year. Nothing has been done since. I had a tennis ball shoved in a hole in my exhaust in order to pass.

So what can you tell me? My GF in her great condition 95 Mustang had 0 O2... what does all this mean?

Sounds slightly better than normal. NOx (oxides of nitrogen) is created by high combustion temperatures. HC's are the fuel, so, the higher the HC's (hydrocarbons) are, the more raw fuel that's being dumped out into the air. CO is that deadly gas to breathe, so that's an important number as well, but when you have oxygen and hydrogen in the same area, it's going to get mixed together sometimes. CO2 isn't dangerous, so it's not required to pass.

If all of your girlfriend's readings are low, it's because those cars have 4 cats on them. Most ANY car could pass with 4 cats. heh

Wow

Do the new Mustangs really have 4 cats?

Thats kind of excessive, no?

Yeah, my numbers didn't look too bad. I'm sure my massive exhaust leaks didn't help me do better though.

I guess I was running better than I thought.

actually the holes in your exhaust help to pass if unoticed by the inspecter due to the fact that not all of your exhaust gas is not being read by the sniffer
