am i retarded for even asking?
I'm looking to see whether it's gonna be worth it to swap out my carb for the TPI that's taking up space in my garage.
I am currently running a mild 350 with an Edelbrock 1405 mech. secondary carb on and originally cc Quadra-bog fuel system, so it already has a return line.
I have the complete TPI manifold and matching computer, but i will need to rob some unsuspecting junkyard car of it's wiring harness. The carb was originally computer controlled, so i already have all or most of the sensors around here somewhere. there was already a holley red pump in the car at one point(noisy freakin thing), so i could just pop it back where it was.
Would this swap be worth the effort (power, fuel consumption, and anything else y'all can think of wise) of a installing an electric pump and an engine wiring harness, or should i just try a rebuild on my old Eddy?

problem is, new carbs arent exactly cheap. unless you wanna get a holley off ebay and rebuild it, but frankly, i dont trust myself in that matter. i learned on FI and thats what i'm good at. on the other hand, i like not having to drop the gas tank to get to my fuel pump.

T.P.I. is good for fuel economy and easy starting, but the induction system is based off of the 305 T.P.I., which is restrictive to say the least. If your 350 is mild, you might consider getting a Holley Street Avenger with vacuum secondaries and electric choke in the 600 cfm range. That should be more than enough to keep you happy. If cost is a factor though, it probably would be cheaper to put on the T.P.I., but be warned, the induction system in it's stock form could provide a little more low end grunt, but you'll pay for it by 4500 rpm's when the induction kills your mill's power making capabilities. Hope that helps.

For a street car tpi works and with just bolt ons is capeable of running deep into the 13's. If your looking to get into the 12's ditch the tpi and go with a carb or aftermarket intake. TPI runs out of revs quick.

I'm running a T5 right now, wouldnt that be bad with vacuum secondaries?
