Will 113 heads work?

on my TBI engine? I want to run some 113 heads on my car. They have the same sized combustion chamber as my 305 TBI (swirl port) heads, but I know aluminum can take higher compression than iron, but will this mess with the engines running?

i'm pretty sure they'll work well.

If the combustion chambers are the same size, then your overall compression ratio will be the same. It's not that the aluminum heads can take more compression per se, but they can take it without detonation. Plus they have better heat radiation characteristics and are lighter to boot! The only issues would be with intake/exhaust port size/flow and combustion chamber configuration. With all things being equal, unless the aluminum heads flowed more air at the same camshaft lift and at the same compression ratio, output power will be roughly the same.

That is good to hear. I was concerned with the compression being thrown off with the heads. As far as I know, the ports and things (unless I can find a ported set) are about the same. The 113s should flow much better than the swirl ports that are on it now (stock). I'll have to do some more research before I buy a set. Thanks for the help, guys.

The 113s have the pre87 intake bolt pattern requiring modification of the tbi intake. the 113s don't have the exhaust crossover for EFE and EGR function. the ecm may have problems with that. Also they have raised d port on the exhaust which has been said to create issues with manifolds and/or headers.
