Choke Light Come On After Turning Car Off
K, here's the scoop, 85 T/A LG4, new battery a couple months ago, new alternator this morning... After driving to work with the voltage gauge off the top end, i went to the local auto parts store and had it checked with the lil machine, which actuall indicated a low charging power... tho showing 13.5v at no load idle, and 16v+ at 2k rpm. However that seemed to even itself out by time i got home... perhaps maybe cuz the battery was fully charged? However, when I got home and turned off the car, the choke light came on... and remained on now for hours... I searched high and low across the board but didn't see anything similar mentioned... Can anyone please help?!?!?!

Try disconnecting your battery again for a half hour to give the computer time to reset and clear any false codes that may exist. Hook it back up and see what happens.

The 'choke' light is actually the 'alternator' light. When the voltage tanks, like when the alternator is not turning because the motor isn't running, or the belt flew off, or whatever.. the choke light will come on.
