I dont know exactly how its done but I remember that you can jump some wires on the relay to power up the fuel pump, that way youre basically bypassing the relay to diagnose whats wrong.

I dont know what wires you have to jump.. anyone care to chime in?

On my 90 next to the main wiring harness where it comes out of the drivers side firewall there is a pigtail connector just tangling there.it should be right next to the relay. If you power up or supply power to the it ...you will by-pass the relay...anyway..relays are cheap mine was 10 bucks..If you have an electric fan relay it should use the same, one might try and swap the two?..
