2 questions

i have a 91 305 tbi. first, i am throwing a code 33, do i have a map or maf sensor and where is it at?

second, my idle is really high, stock tach reads 3000, also the tb is dumping fuel into it, you can see it splashing fuel out as it hits the butterfly's.

would these to be inter-related? or do i just have two different problems?

Your car has a MAP sensor, and you need to verify the accuracy of the dash mounted tach

IIRC, stock TBI's had a problem with fuel pooling on the throttleblade with prolonged idle....that may be what youre talking about.

Not exactly sure where your map sensor is, theyre usually mounted on the firewall or the intake manifold. It'll be a small box with a connector, and a small vacuum line running to it from the manifold.

one more question. i set my timing with a vacuum leak going on, i since fixed the leak, would this make my idle go up? if i readjust my timing will that help it?

If it was a vacuum advance distributor, then that would throw off your setting. If you have TBI as your profile says, then you have a computer controlled distributor. The computer would have adjusted to the vacuum leak, and then adjusted again once you fixed it.
