Fuel problems

I dropped my 350 in with edelbrock pro flo injection, headers, cam. I ran a braided line from the tank to an "Aeromotive Tsunami" fuel pump then used the stock aluminum line for the rest of the supply using another braided line from the solid aluminum to the fuel rail. The pump is in place where the old stock filter and bracket went underneath the drivers side passenger seat. I also used the original solid aluminum return line. The car runs fine, smooth with no leaks or odd noises anywhere. But after about 40- hour it acts like it runs out of gas and quits. I been on the side of the road twice with this problem, give it time and it starts back up. I got it home to see what was happening. The lines have no leaks or anything. After at idle for awhile the fuel pump changes tone like its loses pressure and it quits. I loosened the fitting at the rail, and fuel squirts out then you hear air, it will do it for a few, then I tighten it and it cranks fine, give it all night to cool down, and I can drive it for another40 min, but im not. I also have the heat shield on b/t the muffler and tank if anyone was thinking that was it. This problem is keeping my new engine build from being broken in and its really a pain. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Sounds like the fuel pump is dying.

You did keep a return system, right?

Yeah I kept the return system, the fuel injection has a manifold vacuum return piece on it. I dont think its dying though just from the way it sounds, like the pump will get a little softer and speed up alot, like its just pumping air, which is what I think it is.
