No big deal...

Yup, i took out my ac and amog/air system. All of it - including the black box on the fire wall. Becarefull not to disconect your blower motor or you will also have no heat or moving air for that mater. THe only other thing that you might need to know is that since i took mine out, the fan hasn't come on automatically. I ran a stand alone sensor to the fan so that it comes on at 165 deg.

i have no heat, ripped it out with radiator, my fan is always on with key, so that big black box can go? what about the black circle next to it? this isnt a daily driver so heat or ac is not needed..............too hot , or too cold its in the garage

If it isn't a daily driver, and you don't need heat or air, pull it off. It's just the blower motor for the ac/heater. Also, you might as weel get rid of the heater hoses and heating element under the dash. It'll clean up the engine bay and help with weight. - after removing the blower motor, you will have a hole in your fire wall, you can buy block off plates or take the easy approach with a roll of duct tape.

The heater hoses, the two that runt into your fire wall and to the back of the intake manifold, can be removed and the caped of with some AN fittings on the manifold and the thermostat neck. Or, since you have an automatic fan, get a shiny new neck with out the ugly sensor on it to help pretty up the engine a little. If you get the new neck, you only need to block off the manifold - sorry i don't remember the size of the plug needed off hand. as for the heater core, leave it or pull your dash apart and get rid of it and all of the air plumbing to your vents if you want. My friend did this and the removed the AC/heater controller from his console and actually cut offthe excess plastic and removed the lower part that runs between the seats. That was about 30 lbs of plastic gone. He got a new shift boot and it looks very clean, short of the fade lines in the carpet.

The easiest way is to get an allen key plug that will bolt right in to place. But, if you can spare a little cash, save some weight with a new aluminm water pump. It won't have the provision that you need to block.

would i be able to route the hose from the water pump to the manifold? would it cause to much pressure, cooling issues or anything of that sort?

I would take the easy approach, either block off at the pump, or better yet, look at where the other line comes from the heater core, it should go back into the radiator; reroute your hose from the pump back into the radiator.

Is anyone else reading this and shaking their head? Why are you ripping and tearing things out of this car? What are you accomplishing here besides killing any resale value the car might have had? Are you trying to shave pounds to take it drag racing? There are better ways...
