so here is the problem, i picked up my son from school, when i went to start the car back up, everyting was dead, tried to get a jump start with no luck, all of a sudden, a little bit of smoke came thru the vents. took the battery out to get checked and it needed replaced, came back with the new battery and it turnrd over but wouldnt start, took the air cleaner off and i am getting no fuel, could not hear the pump prime. any ideas of where to start looking?

 

Fusible links would be my first suspicion. Then there is the connector for the fuse links near the distributor/firewall. And grounds.
