hey...was just curious...how fast can a stock 305 HO safely go? haha

this question depends alot on what you wanna know, cuz theres a diffrence between no load wheels in the air speed or on the ground pushing air speed...gearing wise my car can go 200MPH at 5000 rpm...2.73 rear gears and .7 overdrive, but the car only has the potential to go 140 maybe 150 on the road.

Axle/Gears: 10 bolt, true-trac, 3.73
maybe 240kmhr with enough breathing room. Assuming you aren't running 3.73 gears. I think motor trend or whoever tested an '84Z28 against a mustang, same year and whatnot, when they were new. I think the Z28 won at 138MPH or something, but blew the motor, since he used 4th gear to beat the stang.
