maf sensors

Are maf sensor's year and engine displacement specific? I need one for a tpi swap im about to do on my 82 305 trans am but I need a maf sensor.

Not really. So long as it matches the flow tables, itll work on any V8 engine. The wells/microtek seems to be the most popular replacement MAF right now. Supposedly better then the crap botch MAF used originally.
