engine problem

ok so me and my buddy are working on a 90 camaro with a 3.1 auto tranni. the engine is bone stock and we picked it up for free from a buddy of his. as of right now its throwing a code 12 and 43. last wensday, we had it started on its own but running only on 4 cylinders, and when you gave it gas it would just shut off. now as of friday, it wouldnt start on gas anymore but would start on starting fluid run for mayb 30 seconds and shut off. yesterday after working on it, we now know we have spark and we have fuel in the rail.

so my question is, does anyone think they know what the problem might be? and since this may also be important the car was sitting for 2 1/2 years not running. and the fuel rail and plugs and wires are brand new.

change the fuel filter if you havent already. the gas tank could of accumulated crap from it just sitting there for over 2 years, and now clogged the fuel filter

go to a shop try to find stuff called 44k it will clena your injectors and engine liek you wouldnt believe. its so lethal they don't sell it in stores. the shop has to drop it in ur gas for u. after that an oil flush/change wouldn't hurt check timing and spark plugs/wires and new distributor cap rotor and coil would be good too. not saying it will help your problem but if your only running 4 cylinders wouldn't be a bad idea to replace a few ignition parts for about 100-150 all together.

let us know if any of this helps
