"check engine soon" light flashing on and off

My car has always ran fine, but in the past week or so when i go to start it when cold, it fires for about a half second then dies. It keeps doing this unless i hold the gas pedal down then it starts and runs ok. When warm it also starts fine but now every time the car is driving the check engine light stays on for one second, then off for a second and keeps alternating. It's been very cold around here lately (from 5-20 degrees) so i'm sure that might have something to do with it. any idea what that code means?

Why don't you paperclip it and find out for us? It could be a number of things.

indeed, the SES light means something and you can have the computer *tell* you whats wrong with the car.
