OK, so I have had my 91 firebird for sale for like 2 weeks now, sitting in my yard and I would start it up once in a while to make sure everything was still working incase someone came...anyway, went to move it so I could mow under it and bam, started right up, but was puttering like crazy, I put it in drive, then reverse, and anyway long story short, it stalled out and now it won't start. It has a new battery, and its cranking but not over so it will stay on...I had a local kid in my neighborhood stop by and he said it could be, fuel pump, fuel filter, or distribitor cap. What are the odds that the car works fine 4 days prior and now this????WTF, I just wanna sell this car already...please help me...P.S. I do have a haines book on it, but have no idea wtf I am reading....I am computer inclined, and border line retarted on car engines!!!!!LOL

 

Take off the #1 plug and put it in the plug wire. Have a buddy crank the engine while you ground the plug to the manifold and see if there is spark. If there isn't, change the coil wire to make sure it's on. If it is, change the ignition module.

 

Are you out of gas. sometimes when you arend driving the car and just cranking it ever once in a wile you wont notice how much it has.
