IS THERE ANY ONE THAT CAN HELP
I have restored a 1987 Iroc from bottom to top I finished a year ago and still not driving it yet. The engine was a GM performace 350 with vortec head so I purchased a intake from scoggins and fired it up it over heated and ran like crap. I was told the cam was not the right size so I replaced it with one the gm performance put in there ram air set up. Well the overheat problem is gone but the car misses still and the 6 cylinder is not getting getting hot I have replaced the injector I have checked the power to it the spark is good in wire and plug. The timing is set 10 degrees and as i said before it is restored all sensors and other part are new except distributor. Any help out there! I would buy a new distributor if some one made a hei esc do you know of any besides the general.

Yes, there was a thread a while ago explaining the aftermarket HEI ESC style distributors. Do a search in the carb forum I think, under Five7kids's name. (I think those are ones you can use).
So when you pull the #6 plug, and the engine is running, you can hold the plug ground strap against the block and watch a nice hot white spark?
Then you've got a good spark, and I wouldn't bother getting a new dist yet.
That leaves air and fuel. Air is pretty hard to screw up. You say you replaced the injector. First off, what intake is on there, and what style of injection is this?
Have you held a screwdriver to the injector and heart it clicking? Do you think there's a way it could be plugged? Is the plug in #6 starting to go black from fuel loading up, or is it completely white like there's no fuel getting in there at all?

Is this a roller or flat tappet setup?
I'd pull the valve covers and fire it up. I'd want to see the rockers for the #6 cylinder moving just as much as the rest. If you've got fuel, spark, and air, then the last thing left is moving the valve. I'm worried you wiped the lobe there when you first fired it up and it overheated
