A/C oil question
Ok guys heres the info. I swapped out EVERY piece (wasnt to expensive thankfully) for my A/C system so that means hoses, accumulator, compressor, orifice tube etc...and now its time to reassemble. The question is what oil do I use to lubricate the O-rings? I'm going with R-134a and I'm told that i should use PAG 150 oil to lubricate the O-rings. Does this seem correct to you guys?
That plus aside from the compressor, I was told that I dont have to put any oil in the parts because the shop that will recharge it said that they'll run the oil into the system with their machines and what not. So all i have to do is use oil on the O-rings and thats it. Does that seem right? Thanks in advance!

yes
Did you take your old compressor off and dump the oil from it?

Re: A/C oil question
All the oil in my system turned out to be in the evaporator. Every other piece was very dry for some reason. Is that normal?

Re: A/C oil question
You dump any oil that's still in the compressor out through the hose ports. You won't pump any out by simply turning the pulley.

Re: A/C oil question
where the hoses normally screw in is where the oil will come out......it takes a while to drain.....it does help to spin the compressor after your done draining

Re: A/C oil question
Yes. That means that the majority of the R12 oil is now out. It's not compatible with R134A. Just be sure to tell the shop that's going to recharge your system that it's dry of oil.
