Forged crank. Necessary?
When does a forged crank become necessary?
From my searching about all I have come up with is ~500+hp and 6500+rpm.
I'm debating between an Eagle cast and an Eagle forged crank at the moment.
I'm NA btw. No juice. No intentions for more than a possible 75 shot. Unlikely, regardless.
Some useful info:
383
studded mains
forged 6" rods
forged slugs
and a top end that'll have no problems supplying all the air it needs.

Re: Forged crank. Necessary?
In your case, its just safety factor to know the forged will probably never fail in the cars lifetime. Otherwise, the cast would last for years of abuse before failure. $$$$ is now your decisive factor. If you were building a monster, $$$$ would make you buy the forged so that you don't ruin the engine which inturn would cost more money to replace.
