Wild idle problems

Stock 305 with Hooker headers. Car was running awesome and had it in the garage..Mech though it was idling high and adjusted it. Ran like crap ever since, had it back to them and they cant find the problem.

Symptoms:
1. cold start runs rough and floods out.
2. When warm, idle bounces from 400-1200 RPM in park
3. idling at 1200, but in gear, it almost dies dropping to 300 RPM
4. When driving and comming to a stop, it can be @800 RPM at stop but then race to 1200RPM when putting it in park and stay @ 1200 RPM.

Thing I cant figure out, the hood sticker says never attempt to adjust idle, so why did the Mech do it?

What can I do to fix it? The garage is now stumped..it sucks!!

Re: Wild idle problems

i didnt think he could adjust the "idle" with tpi unless he started drilling out safety devices... have you checked your TPS...

Re: Wild idle problems

I have no idea what they done..the Mech is actually dropping by my house tomorrow to have another look...I can tell you its not throwing any codes and he took it apart and cleaned everything.
I will ask what he done and get back to you guys...and any ideas LMN and I will quizz him on it!

Tks for your input!
Living in a small town don't help..only 3 TPI here in town all years combined

Re: Wild idle problems

i am betting he turned the TPS sensor to bump up the idle really the only quick way to play with it.... have you checked to make sure that your TB isnt hanging open... my brothers does that some times
