vualve cover ??

vualve cover ??

i have my sock vauvle covers on but an after market air filter. when i hit the gas it smells like burnin oil.i never put a breather cap on it. i left the lil stock 90 degree angle hose that went into the stock air filter it but i didn't block it off its just open.. could that be my answer to the smell?? please help. (the vauvle cover gaskets are kinda new.)

Crankcase gases are vented out the breather hose under hard acceleration. During regular driving the PCV system scavenges the crankcase with normally clean air entering through the same port. With it diconnected you are allowing dirty air into the crankcase.
Don't block it, the pressure needs to be vented.

a breather cap is good. If you like it real clean then also wrap the breather with a sweat band athletes use for there arms. Sometimes oil can blow out and get on the valve covers (vualve covers)

my favorite place to get them is pepboys, they seem to have the most (or where ever, just get one and change that dirty oil!)
