noob questions about boring

Okay, I just had my 305 bored to .030 over... for a cylinder bore of 3.766 (as opposed to 3.736).

Would I want to get 3.766" pistons or a couple thousandths under?

What I mean is, are these the right pistons for me?

Thanks for any help

Re: noob questions about boring

You need to purchase pistons that are for a 3.766 bore, and make sure they are designed for whatever rod length that you have. You didn't say.

Re: noob questions about boring

Yes those would be the correct pistons for a stock 305 bottom end (crank & rods) bored .030".

You will note that their instructions call for a VERY tight fit to the bore; like .001" - .002", if memory serves. BE CERTAIN that your bores are NO LARGER THAN 3.766" (.030" over); 3.768" (.032" over) would be too much.

Re: noob questions about boring

The rods are stock, so it'd be 5.7" right? Thanks for the help.

Correct, 5.7".

I've never seen off-the-shelf 305 pistons for anything but 5.7" rods.
