pcv issue?

pcv issue?
i just installed a new cam and when i have the driver side breather of a small puff of air comes out. when i have breather in its a longer kinda leaking sound... i havent had a pcv valve in before can this be my prob? we tryed everything and im at wits end. thanks

would not having the pcv valve in my valve cover cause it to blow air once the motor is shut down?

If its not running, you don't have engine vacuum sucking the fumes out of the engine - so yes, once its hot and you shut it off, some of the fumes will vent out of the breather. Thats normal. If you don't want to get your valve covers all dirty from that, you can get a Mr. Gasket breather cap that has no holes on the underside, and has a hose barb on it for something like a 5/8" hose. Put that on, put on a length of hose and run it to somewhere else, like down behind the engine by the firewall or something. Worked fine for me.
Or better yet, do like the factory did, and run that hose into the air cleaner base and take all the 'filter' foam out of the inside of the breather cap. Then its sucking in unrestricted CLEAN FILTERED air from the air cleaner - and will not make a mess on the valve covers.

i put a pcv valve in and i have no problems now. i used the breather shown and it still did it
