Cylinder Head Selection?
I have to pick a set of heads for my engine which is a sbc383 with a forged bottom end. I have been pointed in the direction of the AFR 210cc Race Ready w/65cc Chambers, or Dart Pro 1 215cc with 64cc chambers. I was told there wasnt a huge difference performance and the darts are cheaper. However i havent really got a good description of the darts and am waiting on a reply on that, perhaps the builder was talking about the pro 1 platinums? The Cam will be matched to heads, its going into 85 camaro with a4 3.73 and 3000+stall convertor. Compression will be aprox 10.5:1 and it will be a mostly weekend car that might see a bit of time at the track if anyone needs to know. Anyhow i dont have any experience with either head and have no problem spending a few hundred more if the afr's actually are that much better??? I dont want to get the darts and then be kicking myself later. Anyhow if anyone knowledgeable on this can comment on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Geoff

I have had great results with the AFR 195cc heads look at my combo for one. And if you can hold off for a couple of weeks I will have some flow data on the Dart 215 s.

Re: Cylinder Head Selection?
AFR 195 or 210 would be nice - especially with the 100% CNC ports. The normal AFR heads are about 70% CNC ports, competition machining is 100%.
I've heard GMPP's 200cc (210?) FastBurn aluminum heads are very nice heads as well. 62cc chambers and Vortec style intake ports on a 200-ish port would be a very nice combo.
