Re: boggin problems

was it a rubber hose? if so why not just replace the hose. without that hose on the top of the exhaust manifold to the air pump, its the same as having an exhaust leak if im not mistaken.

Re: boggin problems

try replacing the hose because all that smog pump does is pump air down into your cat and it helps the fumes combust better by helping it as a catalyst too much air to the cat wont affect your performance to my knowledge and if you remove it and you try to go through emissions you'll be screwed if they do an underhood check, they wont even test it if you delete it.

Re: boggin problems

Do they have aftermarket headers? Headers might not have provisions for smog, so no holes, therefore no leak.

Probably not related to the A.I.R. hose.

That's a classic quadrajet symptom when the secondary AV opens too quickly. The two controls on that are the choke pull-off diaphragm (called "vacuum break" by GM) and the AV tension spring. See the sticky in the top section of the Carburetor forum about the E4ME. Both are shown and discussed.
