Hello all,

I need a little help. There is a 305 engine for sale, 27.000 miles. new carb, new intake manifold, new plugs,new wires,new custom air cleaning system, new distributer. I have him down to 700. Is this a good deal? If its still too high is 600 a good deal?

no if i were you i would try and hold out for a 350 but if you really need a motor just to drive every day then go for it doesnt seem to bad of a deal

 

There are better choices for about the same amount of money. Why not consider a rebuilt 350 crate motor, or at least a long block?

 

As in your other post, would need to know what carb, intake, heads & cam it has to make that call. Most likely, it isn't worth it.

 

I agree; if I had to pay money for a motor, it wouldn't be a 305. In fact, if a 305 was free, it still wouldn't be a good deal, to me at least.

 

Well, the thing is... I never can find any good deals on a 350 around here. And this is ready to drop in and drive, and thats what I need. Could i find a 350 for the same price that i could drop in, keep my existing Everything, and drive?

If so.. WHERE?!

Well he is also selling nice kreigers with brand new rubber around them. If he accepted 650 for the motor,and if he throws the 2 wheels in, would that be a good deal? Read my previous reply too.

many people would say that any 305 at any price isn't worth it where are you in mass I'm in Woburn you can have my 87 305 short block for $50.00 and yes the decimal is in the right place.
