did i time it right?

ALright I got me a digital timer and i put the timer to 8* of advancement. I used teh farthest left tooth as my 0. Is this correct? When i did it to the farthest right tooth. I had no power and it kept retarding like i went way too high of advance. I guess im doing alright if it isnt pinging or anything. When i slam on it it does not auto retard either.

Re: did i time it right?

Set the advance timing light to 8* and adjust the balancer mark to zero on the pointer. Advance timing lights take the guesswork out of figuring out the timing mark on the pointer. Set it to your base setting, 8* in your case, and move the mark to zero which will be at 8* because of the advance timing light setting.

You need to know where zero is on the pointer. It should be marked with a zero or will be the deepest cut.

Re: did i time it right?

Well I guess i did it wrong. Makes me madd. I thought i had it right though, I mean if i had it at the wrong tooth i would technically have it at 12-14 degrees of timing. I will fix it today i guess.
