Re: compression questions
kinda hard to say.......but unless you had 305 heads on it the comp will probably go up or stay the same.........compression ratios are hard to give a round about when you dont know what you have.......flat top pistons? domes? dished? if you have flat tops with a 64cc head you will be close to 10.5

Re: compression questions
the heads are stock 350 heads that were on the car...the shop that built it just said that the pistons would give about 9 to 1 compression?

Re: compression questions
chevy made 3 differnt stock heads with differnt comp ratios.......corvette heads were 58cc.........double humps were 64cc.........882 were 76cc........................if you were running 882 and had 9-1 ratio......with 64 cc heads you maybe around 11-1..........im almost 100% sure you have flat tops though, and you should be around 10-1

Re: compression questions
ok cool...for 10-1 would it be necessary/better to run higher octane then 87?

Get the casting #'s off of the heads that were on the engine. Located under the valve cover, between a couple of valves.
Until it's known what heads you had, speculating about what change there was with 64cc heads is moot. You may have made things better, you may made things worse.
