Re: my 383HSR!!

oh no! is that stock manifolds for exhaust? or did you use those to break in the cam?

other than that i'm glad you got it up and running. Cant wait to see how it runs on the dyno and/or track. I'm excited for my build to finally start coming around. hoping for startup in about 3-4 weeks

Re: my 383HSR!!

nice! i am trying to decide if i want to do HSR for my 383 or carb it. i figure carb would be easier for tuning, but then HSR would be very nice as well.

anything to help me decide?

Re: my 383HSR!!

Lookin good, but why did you use stock Throttle body, and stock exhaust mani's? Also, how do you like those patriot heads? I was going to get a pair if my stock 083's were cracked, but they wernt cracked, and my wife wouldnt let me buy new ones.

Re: my 383HSR!!

the manifolds are just for break in. heard some stuff about the temps during cam break in messing with ceramic coatings. didnt want to chance it. the stock throttle body supposed to be good for like 400 hp right.

Re: my 383HSR!!

maybe, but the 383 *should* be able to achieve more than 400hp

all depends on how it's built

Also having a 383 HSR I can tell you that I went from a BBK 58mm throttle body to the Accel 1000 CFM throttle body. My tuner and I got bored threw it on there just to see what would happen. It resulted in 10 rwhp and 10 more ft lbs of torque to the wheels. My throttle response also went up. I would recommend getting an aftermarket TB and go at least 58mm.

Re: my 383HSR!!

yeah a 58mm would work well on that motor. I just ordered a 58mm holley to go with the stealth ram

Re: my 383HSR!!

Interesting post about the throttle body with good back to back dyno comparisons. That should be a thread of its own.

I did in the Aftermarket Product review....Didnt get much attention though? On that note, I know summit makes TB's, how well do they flow compared to Holley's and BBK and Accells?

I bought one and the problem is that it is set up for the LT1. Had to do some wire conversions to make it work and use the LT1 TPS and IAC. Had to work on the portion where the throttle cable attaches. Also had to buy the post where my cruise control fits.
