Weird engine problem..
Latley all of a sudden my car has been running like sh*t or not at all, I checked my timing my plugs/wires checked for vacuum leaks I'm getting fuel so I dont have a problem with that. I think i might have broken a part of the valve train in my #1 cylinder, It had lots of oil on the spark plug. Right now if i try to start it i get a huuuge backfire out the carb and my engine goes up in flames but it does try to start. When i drove it around the block this morning it would try to run but just felt like something was really holding it back and it ran extremely rough. and for some reason while i was checking to see if my distributor was off when i turned it my engine rolled over once
It's getting a new 350 soon but i want to be able to move the car around if I have to.

Timing chain skipped a tooth, distributor is off, etc.
Can you get it started now? I'd pop off the valve covers while it's idling, see if any of them are moving differently. #1 is the suspect eh? A broken pushrod on the #1 exhaust is my guess.

Ya becuase I got the true duals and alot of black smoke is coming out my drivers side.. I Can't get it started at all right now to even check anything.. I read in my haynes manual about the symptoms it has and it does look like its the valvetrain it just feels like a wire popped off.How do you think my engine turned over when I turned my distributor thats what im really stumped about..

Turning your distributor, and the engine "spun over", like via the starter?!? that doesn't make a lot of sense to me..?
I'd pop off the valve covers and have a quick check at that stuff first. I'd be suspect of something breaking there, and it's easy to check.
