cold start injector and egr temp probe
i have an 88 GTA w/ a 305 tpi. i removed the cold start injector and egr temperature probe thing in prep for my swap to speed density (since i had my intake apart).. in doing this, will this screw with the computer and throw a code or something if i need to drive it while its still setup for MAF? what does that temp probe actually do? and as for the cold start injector, does cold in this case stand for engine is equal to ambient air temp or acutally cold?

The cold start conrol is referenced to coolant temperature alone, not air temperature. The unit also contains a ersistance heater, so once the ignition is on and a cold start injector has been operated, it won't operate again until the thermal element in the control has cooled down. This prevents multiple shots from the cold start valve and reduces the possibility of flooding.
The EGR diagnostic temperature switch is supposed to operate when the EGR opens. A disconnected or failed switch will set a "32" during cruise if the EGR valve is opened, but shouldn't cause any real operational problems.
