383 Cam swap
got a blueprint engines 383 makin 405hp and 440 ft/lbs at the crank. i was lookin to swap a new cam in for more power to the wheels. currently it has 234int244exh duration with lift at .487 on the intake and .507 on the exhaust. the LSA is 110 degrees. the compression ratio is 9.5 to 1 and im running vortech heads good to .550 lift stall thats goin in will be 3000 and gears 3.42 or higher. i researched it a little bit and also used a program from comp cams that helps you find the right camshaft. as of now im liking the xe284h. btw the cam is a flat tappet. any input? comments? suggestions?

Not exactly, but I don't see a problem. More stall would help it come off the line in a little more spirited fashion, but that's about it.

Re: 383 Cam swap
i dont really wanna go anything more than 3000rpm on the stall. i just want a cam that can squeeze the most power out of my setup.

Re: 383 Cam swap
The cam I use is a flat tappet (can see in my sig) and liked the cam very much, but I am going with a roller setup now. Only put about 1k miles on the cam and had tons of torque.
