dip stick change question

dip stick change question

my dipstick tube on my 85 iroc is bent to hell, its extremly hard to get the dip stick out. theres a 91 firebird with a tbi v8 at a local yard. could i use the tube and stick from it?

theyr both on the passenger side. the 91 apears to be a bit longer? well, atleast the stick its self is.

if they arent the same length id be very carefull. my dipstic hit and broke off on my last motor and i ended up having to rebuild the whole thing!!! it sucked!!!

The dipstick isn't a precision measuring device. If it's close, it'll be fine.

If you get the tube from a different car, get the dipstick, too. They have changed lengths over the years.

Several years ago while poking around a pick & pull, I noticed none of the cars had dipsticks. Story was gangbangers liked to make knives out of them.
