whats best way to install a pan and not leak?

duh, im trying to see whats the best way to get em to seal... as in with or without sealant, what gaskets the best etc

Use neoprene (fel-pro blue ones) gaskets and RTV in the ridge of both the timing cover and rms.
Supposedly you don't need RTV when using the blue gasket but mine leaked. Thankfully the engine was still on the stand. Easy fix.

One-piece pan gaskets work better than the old 4-piece gaskets.
