Way off topic for this whole forum.
Mods, I won't be mad in the slightest if you delete this. My wife has a 1996 E320 Benz, it had a bad alternator, so I swapped it. Now it has a horrible surging idle. It goes from about 500rmps allthe way to 1500 and then usually results in a stall. The motor is a 3.2 liter inline six. If I unplug the vacuum line right off the top of the manifold the car runs basically fine. I'm stumped. Here's some pics of what I'm talking about. Also, I changed out all vacuum lines that were old. I went on a couple Benz forums already but they don't even answer, let alone help. So if this doesn't get deleted for being way off topic, please help!
