Re: so i heard
haha, the normal engine runs about 210-220, if it runs a few hundred higher, it would torch the engine. there has to be a thousand blocks that have been bored over, and never had a problem with going a few hundred over haha...
that guys full of S**T and was just trying to make some money off you...
you may look into an electric water pump to take draw off the engine and a better radiator if you plan on getting seroius with the build...

Re: so i heard
well im gonna have to do something now. i was driving home today. and i had a huge plume of white smoke come out of the exhaust. i pulled over right away and cut the engine off. decided to let it cool down a bit then i try to start it nothing. just the click of the starter but no cranking. then my friend tells me that i have a leak. coolant coming out of the exhaust. bad news i know. so i tryed to turn it by hand to see if it spins. guess what nothing. so i seized it. freshly rebuilt engine and it seized . im going to call the builder tomorroe and see if he will refund my money. the block im afraid is maxed out at a 60 over bore

could be hydrolocked, pull out the spark plugs and see if it turns

Re: so i heard
so if its hydrolocked then its salvageable? im still gonna have to tear down the engine and see if the cylinders are scratched right? and if they are then that motor is trashed right? if thats not the case then darn it i hope its just hydrolocked

Re: so i heard
if you blew a head gasket and didnt crack anything yes it is totally fixable. However why did it happen, incorrect torque specs, sequence or do the deck surface of block and or heads not get milled, again yes its fixable but you need to know why what happened so you dont tear it down and rebuild it to tear it down and rebuild it again.pulling a motor you just built sukkks but doing it twice sukks alot more.,

Re: so i heard
worst case scenario with hydrolock could be a bent rod or crank, but like stated above you need to determine the cause, was it a crappy gasket or a warped head, bad deck job, cracked head/block or maybe a leaking intake gasket....
