New plugs, runs rough

I have an 85 bird with a 305 all stock, runs awesome, but yesterday i put platinum plugs in it, which of course has a higher more powerful spark. It added to the performance, but now the car runs a little rough at idle, and when i'm in drive while stopped, but feels awesome when accelerating. Is this something i should check out, or is this normal. Thanks for reading, and any feedback is appreciated.

carbed, TPI, TBI? that would help us all a little.

i would ohm your wires to make sure that the wires are still intact.

what brand wires? how old? how does your dizzy cap look?

Also, check to make sure you put the wires back on in the correct order.

i wouldnt say it was far from normal, but it is definitely not normal.

and to 19 z28 92, if it feels better when accelerating i dont think crossed plug wires would be the culpret, if the opposite was true (decent idle, horrible acceleration) i would suspect that.

but still, i would double check to make sure that the wires are right.

did you do anything other than just the plugs? mess with the timing? if its carbed, mess with that?

we still need to know the matter of induction to further help you.

no. carbed and TPI were offered in 1985, obviously no stock 5.7's, but both inductions were produced.

Re: New plugs, runs rough

Its Carb. and the plug wires are original. I've checked them and they are all on in the right order. I'm gunna change the plug wires soon, i figured they wouldn't be too bad since i'm the second owner, and the car only has 4,800 orig. miles, and i put 300 on it since i got it so it had 4,500 miles when i got it.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply to yall, but i live in New Orleans, and had to leave for the storm. Thanks for all yalls help.
