GETTING RID OF EGR SYSTEM!

What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting rid of your EGR System on a TPI Motor? What is the process? I have a TPI setup on a 350 with Vortec heads.

Re: GETTING RID OF EGR SYSTEM!

advantages : 1 pound? weight reduction, little bit cleaner intake tract
disadvantages: higher combustion chamber temps, slight gas mileage decrease, ecu needs to be tuned to run without it.

topic has been covered, do a search, lots of info on it, basically what it boils down to is there is no reason to remove it, if you have one, leave it.

Not to mention lots of NoX pollution for no reason. The EGR doesn't hurt performance.
