My name is mike i have a nice oil leak on the back left side of my motor.

nice advice kingpin . mike , a little better info. on location would be good . if it's high up on eng. , good bet its valve cover gasket . if it's under exhaust manifold good bet it's oil press/fuel sensor . sensor is located just fwd. of oil filter .

Yeah it's better to learn than to spend a couple of bucks over & over again going back to these "reliable' shops.

Could also be where the distributor goes through the intake. I had a nasty leak there once.

lets see. My engine had some bad oil leaks when i first got it. When i opened the hood the smoke was coming from the passenger side. It ended up being a combination of things. First, my rear main seal was junk, but that was clear by all the oil splashed around the back of the engine when you look underneath. The second, and what it sounds like for you, was that the valve cover gasket was leaking in the back.
