Car wont start after hose fell off

Well i was driving today and the water pump hose that goes into the firewall popped off, it started smoking so i pulled over and turned the car off and made a friend come pull me to his house. we get it there and put the hose on and try to clean off all the antifreeze that was everywhere and go to start the car and got nothing no crank. Tried jumping it and once again nothing. So im wondering what could be the problem?

Re: Car wont start after hose fell off

could be water got into the starter and shorted it out that would be my guess i guess the first thing i would check is if you have voltage to the starter when you turn the key
