Two piece is the crank and alternator. A 3 piece adds a water pump. Although, using anything besides the crank is self defeating as the ratio between the accessories is then maintained. The idea is to under drive everything to keep the energy necessary to spin the stuff down, (a reduction in parasitic loss). I run just the crank pulley on my 'vert and did the same on my old 'formy. Never had cooling problems. The worst that happens is when running at night or with the A/C on, at stoplights, I have to pop it in to neutral and bring the idle up a bit due to the voltage drop.

if you get the power and amp series, it eliminates that problem by using a smaller alternator pulley and only underdriving the alternator by 2% rather than 20% like the other pully's.

you also need to bee careful not to over rpm the alternator. I think 19,000 or 20,000 rpm is max u can spin a alternator. heres a formula to make sure your in the clear.

Speed of drive pulley X Diameter of drive pulley

You're underdriving the accessories. They'll never spin as fast as a stock crank pulley so it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: March pulleys help plz

Yeah i'm an idiot. (sorry) I just went through an over heating problem with my march performance setup. so i switch pulleys to high flow water and still had a problem. So i called them up and they got any pulley u need so i played with pulley combos. In the end it wasn't even the pulleys. I was just thinking of what you where saying and jumped the gun.

Do you think id have a problem with the 2-piece. Is the amp series a better investment?
