oil restrictors

ive got a hopped up 383 stroker motor im getting ready to reasemble. all forged internals roller cam afr comp 210 heads titanium retainers etc. and i was looking into the oil restrictors and lifter galley breathers and so on. i was wondering what you guys thought about them and whether they owuld be right for my application. one more question, when reassembling this motor should i use a windage tray or rocker arm reflectors thanks

Re: oil restrictors

Don't have much experience with the oil restricters, but the windage tray and the rocker deflectors are both good. Windage tray helps keep the crank from splashing around the oil in the pan and the rocker deflectors keep the oil on the valve stem tips with the rocker to help keep it lubed. I would do both if you are doing a high horsepower, high RPM engine.

Re: oil restrictors

dont use restrictors unless you need to. I assume your cam is a hyd roller and if so then definitely not.
thats something you can do when you run a solid cam and full roller rockers, and even then the restrictors are usually a bit too small. I sometimes use them, but I drill'em out a bit.
Stay away from them if your not sure you need them.
