Did you try posting your question on your local board for that area? For whatever state Lindenhurst is in?
What's the problem that you can't fix with the help on these boards?

Re: i will pay for help
oh geez, you know where to start, gimme a break. You must have asked already on here? Where did it get you?
I am not wise to fuel injection, but i'm a pretty good troubleshooter. I'd find out if only one cylinder was misfiring, or if it's different cylinders.
I'd buy one of those spark testers that are about $5, that you clamp onto a plug wire. Check each one with it idling (i'm assuming it'll do this at idle? or only under load?)
If it's not spark, check fuel pressure. See if the fuel injection system holds pressure or if it's got a leak. See if any of the injectors are plugged. Check your spark plugs to see if they give you any clues. Something to help you narrow it down.
any recent modifications or changes, or did it do this out of the blue, etc etc?

Re: i will pay for help
1.ok fuel pressure is a about 37psi and will hold all day
2.the car smokes on every start up and some times at wot on the highway (blueish tint) the #8cylinder plug when i first did a tune up was completely closed with black i guess oil
3.also i noticed the distributor makes a squeal/knocking sound very low and when i push on the cap it qquites up a bit. i took the cap off and everythings tight and looks fine
4.injectors will be changed soon i have new ford 24lb
5 im pretty sure its the valve guide seals because last night i attempted doing valve guide seals but on the second spring the junk tool from sk speed i believe malley brand cracked in like 10 spots and the spring came off just my luck i had to make something just to get it back on. now it misses a whole lot worse and smokes more idk how i could have done the guide wrong but i did do the one that was definitly bad. i dont see how one cylinder gets a seal and the other get a loose o ring that just sits on there do you think i can put one of those seals for the intake on both.

Yea, I was mildly offended
Yes, I firmly believe in troubleshooting, then replacing the ONE bad part. I hate the shotgun approach, that's for people who don't know what they're doing.
1) Fuel supply sounds good
2) valve seals and piston rings sound worn. #8 might have cracked rings
3) did you pull the distributor and check the endplay? I take it your rotor screw is on snug?
4) Why? Are they leaking? Or just an upgrade? Don't get your hopes up for this actually doing anything.
5) ok ok, that point was a mess. Get a valve spring compressor of your choice (I just make do with a $10 fork style) and rotate the engine over so the piston is up at tdc on that hole. Yes, just use two sets of intake side seals. It'll smoke more if you don't do these right, and/or if your guides are shot.
Ok, if I were you I would:
a) Finish your valve guide seal replacement job. Do all intake seals. Make sure they are on correct.
b) pull every spark plug and see what they look like. See if any look wrong
c) buy a cheesy spark tester that clamps onto the wire. Check to make sure each hole is firing.
If you're gunking up your #8 plug wire due to TRASHED seals, you could be misfiring from too much oil on the plug. On a V8 it would run slightly off, but not bucking and chugging through stoplights bad.
Either way, diagnose first - buy parts second.

Re: i will pay for help
it wasnt that bad until i changed one seal tghe oter night it will smoke on everystart up and only some times at wot. the reason i think its the seals is bec the car was sitting and the seals i pulled off were definitly shot one crumbled apart and the other was worn to ****. how can i tell if the rings are bad. i am pretty poor so idk what im going to do if there bad also how do i corectly adjust rocker arms
