638 Roller Block, Scrap or not?

A customer brought his truck in a few days ago. I pulled the motor and pulled the pan.

He said it ran hot, ran low on oil and locked up. Lmao. What do people do to these cars.

Should I even tear this down, or just keep accesories and junk the block?

milkshake means antifreeze in the oil - there is a crack someplace in the head.

The crack could be in the block. Check the sides of the lifter valley.

Heads are more likely to warp than blocks. But, about the only way to know is to pull it apart, clean it up, and check it over.

638 blocks do tend to crack in the lifter valley. But it can be repaired. I've done so successfully, more than once.
