Oil pressure problem (as in no pressure!)
OK guys here's the story :
Drove the car one day, was running fine, albeit with a little exhaust header leak. Anyway, next day I started the car and it had loud tapping noise from the engine. I looked down and saw NO oil pressure, it normally runs 45-60. Pulled the valve covers it looked pretty dry. So I pulled the distributor and put a drill down in to spin the oil pump and could only barely get any oil out of the rocker arms, some of the lifters werent even pumped up.
Some quick history 355 rebuilt 4000 miles ago, with a new Melling pump and a high pressure spring, tack welded pickup, 6 quart Moroso pan.Oil was changed a few hundred miles ago.
Have had no oil issues before or since the rebuild until now of course.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Stewart

Sounds like you need to take the pan off and see if anything is obstructing the oil pump. If it's clear, you could have a bad pump, worst case scenario is your main bearings are wiped.

Brand new Melling M-55 with a high pressure spring, I am afraid the tack weld on the pickup broke and its laying in my oilpan.
